In the case of california farmers, the wealth they pay taxes from is produced by people in the fields who should get wages that provide for their family needs and that we would be willing to get ourselves for that day in the sun, and not conditioned by where their mum went into labour or who paid for their raising and education growing up. And before we complain about the subsequent price of tomatoes we could revise credit card 7% charge on every transaction whether you pay in cash or with a card, as the shop can't give a discount if it wants to provide this expensive convenience. Maybe we could just have a please and thankyou economy with waiting lists regulating offer and demand.
